Concerned over open fraternization between the faculty, Mr Conklin has forbid Connie Brooks from getting too close to Mr Boynton during working hours. At the breakfast table though, Connie is grilled by Mrs Davis about her recent date to see a movie with the bashful biology teacher. On the way to school, Walter tells how love has been affecting Stretch on the football field.
When Mr Conklin is set on winning the big game against the rival high school. He enlists Connie Brooks, who Stretch admires, to get to the bottom of the matter with Stretch. Will Conklin be forthcoming with any favors of his own?
Stretch butchers his way through English grammar as he complains bout his poor game playing. He’s determined to keep his love interest a secret. He’s no match for Connie’s interrogation techniques, and she learns he has a crush on Judy Brill, daughter of the rival high school principal.
How can Connie reverse the sabotage being done to Madison High’s star athlete? She recruits Walter to date Judy to make Stretch think she’s a flirt, and not worth going out with. Will school spirit and loyalty outweigh the risk of being beaten up by his best friend? Taking another route, Connie approaches Judy to exchange womanly wiles over men. The staged date between Walter and Judy seems to work, and benefit by leaving Connie alone with Mr Boynton.
