Sam Grant had been dead for two weeks, then his lawyer reads his will to the two children. The son is to receive all the cash of the estate, and the sister gets the ranch.
The son feels he should have received the ranch, gets hotheaded over the result, and storms out with a warning to his sister to be wary of the lawyer. The gal is uncertain of herself, but everybody seems to have confidence in her ability to handle the ranch well.
When a cow hand, Roy Harcliff, is found dead, the son is run up on charges. He escapes, but with Cisco and Pancho nearby, they decide to lend a hand to the senorita instead of chasing him down. Is there a plot to take over the ranch? Was the son, Jud, right when he stormed out?
Bodies begin piling up, but would Jud stoop to killing his own sister for the ranch? Cisco and Pancho hit the trail to pursue a shooter. The plot thickens when the lawyer tries to buy the ranch for a song, you know, just to help the sister get out from under the new stress that she has found herself.
Cisco and Pancho are dropped down a well, and Jud is brought back to be held in jail. Sounds like a major set up to me. Come on Cisco, get out of that well, so you can expose the bad guy, unravel the mystery, and bring justice to clear up the whole matter.
