Vic has come home for lunch early with sudden developments at work. Uncle Fletcher has important word of his own for him. Sade and Vic figure it has to do with the upcoming wedding of Fletcher’s landlady, and speculate on what important thing it might be this time.
Fletcher makes sure that they can meet in private, and without distractions. That means making sure that Russell isn’t around to be tainted by the adult conversation. He gets right to the point to tell Vic that he has managed to pull strings to make Vic the best man. Why would Vic be the best man for a person he doesn’t even know? That’s what Vic would like to know too.
Russell enters to disrupt the private, adult conversation. Can Sade get rid of Russell tactfully? Will Fletcher be able to keep from telling his secret arrangements despite the intrusion on his affairs?
Besides the awkward arrangements made for Vic, Fletcher wants to impose on Sade and have his landady be a house guest of the Gooks for the next two weeks. Both Vic and Sade protest, and try to get out of the arrangements. It seems that the always imposing Fletcher has pushed them too far by not asking them first. Do you think he gets their point?
