Both Vic and Sade have important gossip, but neither can get the other to listen. Russell enters with his own news, and that Vic has another DUN from Kleabergers. Why doesn’t he just pay his bill? Vic always seems to owe the store a few dollars, but complains that as much business he does in the store the floating 4 dollars ought not to require a monthly reminder.
Vic is surprised to learn the latest DUN isn’t a bill, but a statement saying the store owes him $2. Armed with his new leverage and seeking revenge over the pushy notices, Vic wants to phone the store to demand payment. Russell points out the store is closed. Darn. It won’t stop Vic, he looks up Kleaberger’s home phone to harrass him after hours.
Mr Kleaberger isn’t at home, so Vic tracks him down at church. Surely he won’t cause a scene to embarrass Sade? Insert evil laugh from Vic.
