It’s the last show of the season, and the Harris family is getting ready for vacation. Travel plans to London means having shot records up to date. Alice convinces Phil that he needs to be the brave dad to take the girls to the doctor, and show them there’s no fear. The secret is the girls aren’t afraid, they already have their shots, and it’s actually Phil and Frankie who need to be vaccinated. Alice sings, Why Should I Care.
Everybody is in on the trickery, although the doctor’s bedside manner runs thin at the thought of pandering to a grown man this way. The girls ham it up to convince Phil in a cute role reversal, Will Phil get Senator McCarthy to declare viruses communists, and send them back where they came from? Julius pops in, to stir up Phil’s fears. Phil sings, You Can’t Do Wrong Doing Right.
To sedate Phil, the doc slips him a Mickey. After the comic misadventures of his dream sequence, Phil is ready to man up for his shot. Then he finds out he already got it while he was tormented by his cast members in the goofy medical nightmare.
Note: Hans Conried is the doctor. Frank Nelson makes an appearance in the dream.
