Again, Abner has nearly ruined a deal for the new movie theater. Today Lum is returning from the county seat with the new projector. He’s just wore to a frazzle after carrying it inside. Cedric takes it to the feed room to see if he can work it out. It might mean he gets to see movies for free if he figures out how to run it. The boy might not have much of a mind, but Lum claims he has a mind for mechanical things.
Lum tries to explain how the front of the theater is called the back of the house. How do they turn the building around so fast? Abner wonders that his usual front row seat is really in the back. He’s going to have to find a new place to sit.
Lum needs to get music for the show. It derails Abner from his seating worries, Grandpap has a player piano, but all he has is old timey music. Has Cedric figured out the projector? Why does he have it on the stove?
