In the small house halfway up the next block we find Russell on the telephone, trying to collect a debt from his pal Smelly Clark. Vic enters in his usual high spirits, and promises some juicy gossip if Russel will get off the phone. He milks the moment as he slowly spills the beans at being left in charge of the Kitchenware plant.
The two make a hasty plan to tell Sade about the news in a dramatic way. Sade has her own gossip about her day shopping for those bargains downtown at Yameltons. Will Russel pick up on his cue to break the news? Will Sade believe the good news? Why isn’t she as proud of the idea as Vic and Russel is? Sade questions the logic and wisdom of Mr Rubish, and why he chose a mid level accountant like Vic to take charge.
So why did Vic get the job of being boss for a day? Listen and watch that lead balloon fall crashing to the ground. Carrying Vic’s mood with it.
