A tired and worried Abner frets over Lum’s disappearance, and note he left. Grandpap does what he can to assure Abner that Lum will return safe and sound. He suggests running an ad in the lost and found column. The ads he reads to prove his point only serve to confuse Abner.
Abner just doesn’t see the point. How can Lum read the paper if he’s at the bottom of the mill pond? Speaking of the mill pond, how’s the search party doing, and the dragging of the pond going? Abner takes phone calls to get the reports.
Will it help if he composes that classified notice with grandpap? How will they get Lum to read their ad once they get it in the paper?
