Lum is still missing, and Abner has given up all hope of Lum’s returning. Today we find Abner giving the last of Lum’s clothes away to Mousey and Cedric. The talk of Lum being gone gets Abner and Cedric all choked up. Cedric sure wishes he could get more of Lum’s stuff, but all thats left are the furniture and appliances, but those will be needed by the widow Jessup. Too bad Mr Lum didn’t have a pinball machine ,Cedric is even willing to buy the house for $10.
Suddenly Lum arrives, and Abner is torn between fear at seeing a ghost, and the realization that his friend is alive, and all his stuff is gone. Where has Lum been? Mostly in the county seat. He’s in a better mood since the ordeal that drove him out of town in shame. Lum tells about his new business idea that came to him while he was in the county seat. He is so excited about it, he wanted to let Abner know about it first. As Lum stood in the lines of movie theaters night after night, he knew that was the latest trend in business.
With news of the upcoming movie theater idea off his chest, Lum is all set on going home, freshening up, getting a good nights sleep, and dressing up in his new blue serge suit. Uh-oh. Suddenly, Abner tries his best to keep Lum from going home.
Can he buy time so he can get all Lum’s scattered clothes back to him? How will he get the widow out of Lum’s house after he made that deal with her? Speaking of the widow.
A phone call from widow Jessup spills the beans, and let’s just say that Lum is not a happy camper.
