On the back porch, Fibber wonders where his 10 lessons are that go with his new zither. Fibber dreams of showing off his melodious tones on the instrument. As he scares Harlowe and Molly away, Teeny pops in to tell about hergrandpa, but isn’t interested in the zitther. She ends up hearing Fibber brag about being Tune Twister McGee.

Donald Novus sings, Our Love. Feeling like an outcast, Fibber plays and sings out of tune when the Old Timer visits. The way he hear’d it, the story involves a kidnapped book binder. Harlowe Wilcox returns to tell how easy the sponsor product is to use.

Abigail Uppington arrives to talk about the noise she has been hearing. Can it b stray chickens? The flurry of puns, and chickens, have Fibber’s feathers ruffled, and storming off to talk to his next door neighbor.

The Four Notes sing, Way Down Yonder in New Orleans. Gildersleeve tells about the guy who lived in Fibbers house before him. he is said to have buried treasure in the back yard. Nick the Greek pops in to learn about the zither. He also tells a scrambled fairy tale about a princess whith a goose that lays golden eggs. Now determined to find buried treasure, the zither gets broken. Fibber unearths a wooden box, but what will it hold?

Note: Fibber references the song, Three Little Fishes, a song that hit number 1 in the charts just the week before. Gildersleeve isn’t called by name, but the previous neighbor he mentions doesn’t exist. Fans may recall that the way the McGee’s came to live in 79 Wistful Vista is that they won their brand new house, in this brand new housing development by buying a raffle ticket.
