The story of 58 minutes that could mean disaster for a city. Reporting in to city hall, Joe and Ben are surprised to learn the building is empty. They meet the chief on the 16th floor for more of the story. A bomber wants his brother released from jail, or he’ll blow up the building. Joe gives the details of the scene at hand, and the bomber who has barricaded himself into an office.
With the building evacuated, what does Carney hope to accomplish if his brother Elwood isn’t released? Is this all a bluff? Not when a bundle of 16 sticks of dynamite are found. Talking does no good, and the tricks the cops had up their sleeves aren’t fooling Carney.
It comes down to raw nerve, and a carefully orchestrated plan to take Carney down, and the bomb out of the building. The clock ticks. Tempers flare. Everything that can go wrong for the cops seems to go against them. The big break comes, along with the nail biting finish.
