Checking on a burglary in a construction tool shed, Captain Canelli is on the scene. Dynamite, and the blasting caps to ignite it are missing. Nitro glistering has also been taken. Is it the job of a safe cracker, finding a source of handy supplies? What if it were just some kids looking for a few thrills?
As the debate over whether safe crackers still use such blunt force any more,, a phone call comes in with the answer. Canelli is now on the scene of an explosion at a vacant lot, with one injured teenager, and his two friends on the run. Showing his compassionate side, Canelli helps get the seriously injured teen into the ambulance, before continuing his patrol.
Detective King already has a handle on who the kid is. There’s still some sticks of dynamite and blasting caps to hunt down. Why do kids act this way? Should it be up to the cops to be their parents, and keep them safe? Frank’s dad isn’t very cooperative in helping find the other boys. What’s it going to take to soften up the parent, and get some help from him? Maybe more of a cost than he planned on.
