Teachers everywhere are looking forward to returning to the classroom, tanned and rested. Connie Brooks isn’t quite so eager after a Summer of teaching Summer school. She talks with Mrs Davis about enjoying her last weekend of relaxation. Mr Boynton pops in and tells about his vacation at the casino.
Though school isn’t supposed to officially begin until Monday, Mr Conklin phones Connie to tell her it’s going to start on Friday instead. When Walter makes his appearance, we find out why.
To have that one last day off, Connie has to scramble to let Conklin know that he was the victim of a practical joke, but not revealing the source of the joke. Through a slight mix up, the state school board administrator, Mr Hewitt is rounded up, but will he play along with Miss Brooks? Frank Nelson plays the part of Mr Hewitt, and the mix ups and misunderstandings are just beginning.
