The gossip segment, being a throwback to a feature that appeared in Jack’s early days on the radio. He even offers a word of advice for Fred Allen, and his Summer vacation. Phil plays, Hurray for Spinach.
Jack has one more scoop he wants to share with Kenny, but the tenor tells how he has been sunbathing. Jack tells the cast about a trip to his home town of Waukegan.
The play is introduced, while the cast interrupt with travel arrangements. Andy Divine will get to go to Waukegan as well. A phone call is from Plainfield, and Mary learns about her families latest antics. Kenny sings, And the Angels Sing.
A phone call gets Holmes and Watson interested in chasing girls in France. It’s just too boring around here. Mary presents the case of the killings at Baskervilles. Walking through the spooky mansion, creepy laughs punctuate the air. Signs of the violent death set the stage for holmes to guess which guilty party did it. A seance seems to bring answers, as long as double talk counts.
