It’s Mothers Day at Madison High School, and at school walter tries to get gift ideas from Miss Brooks. She isn’t aware yet that he and the students actually want to get her a gift as their surrogate mother, and the strange questions are intended to pick her brain as to what she might want.
In the cafeteria, Connie talks with Boynton about his parents, and family life when he was growing up. Today is Connie’s big chance to meet the parents, and see if there could be any hope for her future with Mr Boynton.
Trying to make a good impression, Connie rushes home to get the house fixed up for Mr Boynton’s visiting parents. Mrs Davis does her part by sending out the furniture to be repaired. what can go wrong when it’s in the hands of Stretch Snodgrass. when the Boyntons arrive early, Connie is caught as far as possible from being prepared, and in less than impressive conditions. The parents seem oblivious to the unkempt appearance of Connie, and her missing chairs, but there’s more fun as we meet the Boynton’s.
There’s sure to be mix ups when the boyntons open a Mothers Day gift that wasn’t meant for them. walter even shows up with a special Mother’s day song for Connie.
