Abner wonders over the war wound that sent their friend back from the war. Cedric arrives, as does US Quincey to prepare to greet Mousey.
To make things comfortable for him, Lum warns to be careful in talking about the war, and his wound. Mousey takes the place of honor with the friends who seem just like a mother to him. What all has changed around town since Mousey has been gone? Who is sparking who?
Grandpap tells how disagreements over ice cream flavors broke up a romance over at Cherry Hill. Girls who have gone away to nurses outfits, and guys who are in the army, but a phone call from Mousey’s wife Gussy calls him home. With all the home town news, the gents never quite learn about that war over there in Africa.
