The day hasn’t started well for Connie Brooks, and when she meets Walter at school, she has a curve thrown at her. Walter shows off his tape recorder. He has it on loan, but wants the school to buy it. He manages to be in the right places to catch people in the act of saying incriminating things.
Mix ups are in store when Conklin agrees to requisition payment for the tape recorder, and Boynton wants to release one of his lab frogs back into the wild. The whole time, Conklin has been trying to cut corners and trim back on spending, and has to face the music when the upset Mr Stone gets the outlandish bill for the recorder. Walter’s mixed up recorded messages only add to the comedy.
