The gents hash over the possibilities Lum has. He’s stubborn as a blue nosed mule. He could solve all his problems by just getting married. As the gents are in full stride of jumping to conclusions, Squire enters.
Lum seems to be missing again. Has he run off to Mexico? Is Lum in such a bad spot that he’s gone out and suicide himself? When he enters, talking about the fine day, Abner thinks Lum has lost his mind. Has he paid off Mable? Has he found another way to slip out of the wedding? Has he fallen in love?
