Working Accident Investigation, Felony Detail. A woman has been struck down, and now Joe Friday is on the case. Waiting for his partner, Joe files the hit and run report with the night clerk. The report from the hospital is serious, and it’ll be some time before the cops can talk to the victim. The search for the car begins.
In voiceover, Joe tells the details of the investigation. The landlady of the victim is on hand to tell what she knows about her once good girl Tennant, who has gone downhill in recent weeks. The list of cars is in the thousands, but Joe and Ben diligently check up on each one of them. Finally a break comes, the car is found, and only one job is left… find the driver.
The car owner is picked up easily enough, but sometimes a cops work isn’t done until the court date. The victim has recovered, and ready to appear in court. Taking the stand, Joe Friday makes his statement. The judge calls for, and examine the evidence in the case. Crime lab officers present forensic evidences including car damage, and other objects, imprints of fabric, and even the lips of the victim. Lip imprints? Can lips do that?
Complications set in when the victim is missing. The case stands to be thrown out if she doesn’t appear. Where is she? Where did she go? Joe Friday finds out, and a twist to obstructing a little justice.
