Previously Cain and Ardellah have been hiding out and forcing Barney to do their bidding by using the psychic restriction ray on him.
Today Buck and Wilma are back in the lab, when a rocket roadster crashes right in front of them. It’s Willie, but Doc Hewer uses his medical healing ray to fix Willie up. Wilma can’t understand why Willie was trying to pilot the roadster alone, and Buck checks the wreckage to learn it’s the same one Ardella escaped in with the stolen equipment. The worried Wilma, Buck, and Doc are concerned what Barney will think if Willie doesn’t survive.
As Willie comes around, he asks for his friend and mentor, Barney. As his strength comes back he recognizes the trio, and tells what he remembers about what happened to Barney, and being abducted by Cain and Ardella.
Finally the medical ray has done it’s work, and Willie is back to full strength, but with a respectable bump on his head. Willie is sharp and even gives directions to the last known whereabouts of the bad guys, and shows Buck a note he was given. It’s a message from Cain, designed to taunt Buck.
Buck and Doc suspect where Cains hideout may be, and they know about the abandoned lab that Cain seems to have taken an interest in to use as his hideout. With a rocketplane of their own outfitted with all the latest gadgets, Buck and Wilma blast back off to get hot on the trail of the bad guys.
