The original pick for playing Connie Brooks was not a shoe in for Eve Arden. Ahead of her were Shirley Booth, the original pick, and Lucille Ball, who had other commitments, and couldn’t be in an audition. When Eve Arden put in her performance, there were other changes in actors, and even script writers.
To give a look at the final cast, we fast forward several months to feature episode 24, Student Government Day. Enjoy all the polishes with a cast and crew who seem to have it all together, and portray a crazy day of the life of our favorite English teacher… Miss Brooks.
