In her classroom, Connie Brooks gets an earful about school policy, and in keeping her blackboard clean. Can her words soften the grumpy old principal? Walter enters, and more Springtime cleaning and school traditions are shared. In the process we learn there are school projects galore going on, and an important letter is expected. Connie is such a wonderful English teacher, as we can see demonstrated when Stretch so eloquently uses the English language… or not.
In cleaning out the file cabinets, Walter finds a letter of reprimand for the previous principle, warning him to lay off his tyrannical methods. Always the prankster, Walter rigs the letter so Conklin thinks it’s his expected letter from the school board. Will he soften up and stop being so grumpy? Will he turn over a kinder, gentler leaf?
In the cafeteria, Connie and Boynton marvel at the changed attitude, but when Walter enters, they learn the truth behind it. Conklin doesn’t have to find out, does he? Get ready for explosive revelations and slow burns as the secrets pour out.
If only Parlin Law Scholarship were available, I think Connie’s students would have hope for life after high school.
