Doc Hall has been quite the busy little beaver around the house. It’s all to postpone facing the moment of having to go to work. A kite flying competition is to be coming soon, and Doc Hall has to defend his championship title. The term of classes the school is in now is the most stressful time of the academic year, and more frustrations arise. A student with an emotional problem is described for Doc Hall. What is the problem that just can’t be resolved, and is causing such a stellar student to leave for another university? Merton has a crush, and a secret that he reveals after Doc Hall offers his best advice on wooing the fair maiden.
Think about this. How many girls are there on campus? So far in the series, I think there has only been one, and she left already. Remember the Chinese student? Will it be any surprise to learn that Vicky Hall is the object of Merton’s affections? If nothing else, it makes for a few comic mix ups and turn abouts for the cause of romance.
As is typical, Toddy spends a few moments in romantic reverie before he defends his true love from his rival for the hand of Vicky. I think she can handle her own, but will Merton survive his emotions being crushed?
