On the night tour, Captain Canelli learns about a baby that was left with a couple. Mrs Heffle hasn’t been heard from in weeks. She made arrangements to board her son, but she hasn’t paid anything yet. Mrs Heffle doesn’t have a husband, and she claimed to need time to settle into a factory job. Mr Morgan is upset over being stuck with the bills of raising the child, although his wife doesn’t seem to mind the baby since they never had any.
A case of domestic dispute, gets Canelli’s attention next. It’s the scene where the baby in question is located. Mrs Morgan is fine with the child, and doesn’t want to turn him over to the foster care system.
Canelli describes his other points of interest during his tour in the night. A pair of bickering, foreign sailors are tended to. The matter of the baby has escalated yet again when Mrs Morgan is missing, and the baby with her. She is found in short order, but will the domestic case be resolved?
