Mr Conklin brings it to the attention of Miss Brooks that she has a star baseball player in her class. Stretch already has trouble keeping his grades up enough to play for the team, but when a new student transfers to her class, Connie will have even more complications. Suzy Prentiss may be even more scholastically challenged than Stretch.
Discussing the students, a banquet, and matters of love, Connie tries to make hints of love to the oblivious biology teacher, Mr Boynton. Stretch enters to ask advice on girls, but will he be open to help from Miss Brooks. After all, she’s a girl too. Though Stretch is bashful about admitting who his crush is, Connie finds out soon enough.
Suzy is sweet on Stretch, and shares her concerns over him with Miss Brook. The girl may not have good grammar, but she cleans up well enough, and with the help of Walter Denton, Connie tries her hand at matchmaking. A mix up in a delivery of formal wear has the gang converging on Connie’s house. Get ready for romance, and hypertensive moments up to the end.
