The courtship is over, and the day of the wedding has arrived. Grandpap still thinks he’s Buster V Davenport as we join the festive preparations for the ceremony. The gents take comfort that happiness will win the day, whether grandpap gets his memory back or not.
The guests have all arrived, and people take their places. US Quincey looks uncomfortable in his tight collar, and tasked with giving the bride away. Grandpap is nervous and jumpy as the groom. Squire Skimp, as best man, dispenses a few last words of advice and insurance sales, for the groom, while Lum does a bit of mingling in the crowd.
As the gents describe the crowd, and scene in the meeting room, grandpap enters. The well meaning Cedric has been chomping at the bit to do his part, and in an accident, he thumps grandpap on the head. In true comedy fashion, memory is restored. Will there still be a wedding? Grandpap thinks some other man tried to marry his woman, thumped him on the head, and made a quick get away to escape his wrath. And what about aunt Charity? Will she be upset by the disrupted ceremony?
