It’s morning in the Hall house as Toddy and Vicky chat together with their maid. The snowy weather is the topic, and the tradition of the students building a snowman on the lawns of the faculty they like best. The casual conversation is interupted with Doc Hall noticing all the other houses with snowmen, but none in his yard. There won’t be any hurt feelings will there? Doc Hall isn’t thinking about packing it in, and moving to another university, is he?
Strolling down faculty row only brings it home all the more that there’s a missing snowman on the lawn of the Hall residence, especially when others who are less likeable on staff have snowmen. Toddy’s sentimental side flashes back to their first moments in their house. It shouldn’t be a surprise, but on returning home, the presence of a snowman on his front lawn takes
Doc Hall by surprise.
