Though Lum is busily using his marketing expertise to get business for the new dentist, Abner doubts that Doc Snide knows what he’s doing. Abner’s questions about his teeth only have received answers regarding the high school athletic accomplishments of the dentist.
Lum defends the dentist, and is confident of his abilities. Doc Snide seems to be borrowing pocket change from everybody, and when he works late in the feed room, he snacks on food from the store.
Lum reviews some of the bills they are to collect on from dental work done at the store. Though the doc always seems to be busy, there’s little billable work being done.
The bills seem more like socializing to Abner. Lum continues to read the invoices, and defends the doctors efforts. A complaint from school teacher, professor Sloane may get assistant dentist Edwards attention, since the dentist is dropping the ball with examining the students.
