What other cources are planned for the dinner? What kind of meat is in a smorgasbord anyway? Lum figures he’ll cross out all the meat, and have a patriotic meal. How does it read now? Crisp crackers… and that’s about it.
Buster arrives to get a donation for the Red Cross. The patriotic pitch calls for donations now, not later, when folks expect their tax returns. He also claims to be leaving town over the weekend… huh? What about his big party this Monday? Lum sees a chance to keep grandpap around, and raise the money for Red Cross.
