The new dentist is due to arrive today. We find Lum on the phone, convincing Mrs Barton to send her kids over for an exam. Trying to think of people who need teeth pulled, Abner thinks he could start a fight, and have folks knock each others teeth out. Will Lum convince Abner to be the first patient?
Suddenly Abner is worried, but is it over an imagined pain in a tooth, or at Lum’s medical advice? The doc approaches, and the gents describe his rumpled appearance. The mealy mouth, mumbling doctor sounds like he should see a dentist himself, to do something about some badly fitted dentures.
The doctor tries to tell about his credentials, but Abner has become desperate to have someone work on his ailing teeth. It seems that most of the awards the doc has are contained as charms on his watch chain, and on his high school track team. How will Abner’s exam go?
