After his phone call with Duffy, Archie talks to Eddie about decorating the tavern. They wonder what gifts they might get this year from their boss. Finniganhas a question about Santa Claus. The touchy subject is nearly as awkward as the talk about the birds and bees. Eddie gets a phone call from his girlfriend. Miss Duffy enters, feeling as battered around as she looks. Will Archie let her sing in his Christmas show?
The Christmas show begins with a sampling of music. Eddie Green sings, Santa Claus is Coming to Town. The band plays a wintery sounding jazzy number. They follow it with a mellow arrangement of,White Christmas that somehow fades back into a syncopated jazz riff. Clifton Finnigan and Miss Duffy are paired up to sing, Winter Wonderland.
The Christmas Carol is presented, as written by those Dickens boys… Charles and Archie. Archie is Scrooge, Eddie is his faithful employee, Godfrey. Scrooge goes to bed where Eddie doubles as the Spirit of Christmas. Miss Duffy and Finnigan are Mrs Crachet and Tiny Tim. Has Scrooge seen the error of his way?
PS: Where was Elsa Maxwell in this presentation? Other than the slightest of mentions, she doesn’t seem to actually appear on the microphone.
