The show begins in flashback mode with Mr Scot and the sponsor executives talking about the program. At the Harris home, the girls talk with Alice about why Phil is nervous. It is to be the first televised episode of the show, and Phil is worried about being successful. Maybe he should dress up as a cowboy? Maybe he should imitate a well known personality? Alice sings, Look What You Done My Baby.
Still trying out his cowboy persona, Phil greets Frankie in Western style. To make the band look presentable, Alice wants to pick out their uniforms. Phil sings, Lucky Old Son.
At the studio, Phil and Alice meet with the sponsor. What direction will the TV show take? How would Phil be as a hard boiled detective? Mr Scot is going to have his new script writer in to go over the show. It’s Julius. The scene has the tough Phil, and dimwitted assistant Frankie, dealing with the alluring siren that all men desire. The parts are way overdramatic, and stylized, but the cast has fun with it.
Note: In real life I think the show was tried out on TV, but it didn’t take off. Phil was never too keen on TV, and would always claim that it was radio that was his best medium.
