In need of someone to play Santa, Archie talks with Duffy about getting their friend and famously bearded actor, Monte Wooley to play the part. Meanwhile he gets Eddie, and Miss Duffy to help decorate the place. They tease about the classy gifts they hope to get. Perfume, luggage, mink coats, and more. After Finnegan arrives to share a little about his average family get togethers, the band plays a jumping tune.
When Archie learns that Duffy has actually bought him a Christmas gift, he has to think of something to offer in return. More musical interlude breaks up the jokes, where the AFRS replaced the original sponsor message. Archie gets to meet a young relative of Finnegan’s, and offer advice on growing to be big and strong.
After a carol, Silent Night, the guest arrives. Monte Wooley, a former school teacher, talks to Archie and Mulligan about his career. Does he know that Archie wants to recruit him to become Santa Claus? Good natured holiday jokes continue for the cast.
