Mr Boynton has been away on a biology convention, and Connie Brooks is feeling the loss. When Walter Denton pops in, he hints that Mr LaBlanc, the French teacher, may have a thing for Connie. Whether he is or not, it might be the thing needed to make Boynton jealous.
When LaBlanc passes off a note to Connie, it’s in French so she sets out to find someone who can translate it for her. Armed with a mistranslation from Walter, Connie thinks it’s a love note, but he’s just asking for money to buy a car. A situation that provides a few comical moments at their mutual misunderstanding. The heat is turned up when the car to be purchased is Conklin’s and he puts the pressure on to close a deal.
