Grandpap has amnesia, and now thinks he’s a traveling vacuum cleaner salesman, named Buster V Davenport from Toledo, Ohio. Today, Abner talks to his wife, Lizabeth, in a rare moment when we hear her voice. She thinks his idea is plum adde headed, to pose as a customer who wants to buy a vacuum cleaner.
Abner rebels when he is asked to do woman’s work by drying the dishes. He doesn’t have much choice, since Little Pearl departed to become a nurse. As Abner and Lizabeth bicker, Lum pops in to tell that grandpap, the vacuum cleaner salesman who has no vacuum cleaner, now has one.
At first Lizabeth doesn’t like the idea of the vacuum demonstration when Buster arrives, but soon he persuades her to give it a fair shake and pamper herself. Will the machine be the labor saving device that Buster claims it to be? Lizabeth becomes convinced, but Abner gets the short end of the stick. Is he being an unfair slave driver in Lizabeth’s woman’s work?
Note: Lizabeth is voiced by a radio personality named Mirandy. Little is known about her, other than her appearance here, and on a show produced by the AFRS, Melody Roundup.
