Though Lum still worries over the migration of folks from Pine Ridge, and thinks grandpap’s chemistry set is silly, we find Abner and grandpa mixing up a batch of invisible ink. The directions from the set never seemed to make the ink, xo grandpap is using his own concoction.
The pot is set to boil the unknown mixture of chemicals as the gents talk. Abner is worried at the possible waste. When they fill the bottles, how will they know when they’re full? They’ll be spilling a lot of it as they guess at filling them.
Maybe to cover the waste, they could make twice as much as they need. How ever much that may be. Cedric enters with a mix and match collection of bottles to fill. When Cedric drops some stretch berries, and sweet gum into the boiling pot, the ink is ruined, but the gents seem to have just created a synthetic rubber.
