As Connie Brooks faces another day of dragging herself out of bed, and off to school, she and landlady, Mrs Davis discuss the bashful Mr Boynton. Walter Denton arrives with an idea to thrust the teachers into a closer relationship. He just had an incident where he took the blame for a dented fender that Harriot put in her dad’s prized car. What if Connie set up Mr Boynton to be put into a jam with Mr Conklin, then Connie could swoop in, and take the blame.
What could Connie do to nudge Boynton into a bad situation with the boss? That’s the theme of the show today. Of course, the comedy pours from the situation, and in the end it takes Connie giving up her quest before tragedy strikes. Even then there’s a little twist that finds her in good with Conklin, but on the outs with Boynton.
