Is there a new business Lum can start, or in some way singlehandedly save the town? Abner tells how his women folk have been puddling up, and crying like a houseful of calves. It’s due to Little Pearl going off to join the nurses corps for the war.
The phone keeps ringing, and Abner just can’t understand why women get so much enjoyment out of crying. Will Lum ever get to studying up a business venture? Will the girls get off alright on the mail hack? Will the impact of it all find the crusty old gents doing a little crying themselves?
