The trial of Cedric Wehandt continues, but the progress is slow with all the interruptions Lum brings into the mix. This time its over announcements, lunch, and the birth of a child to the Goshens. Grandpap’s squeaky shoes, and the mooing cows are back as Cedric takes the stand.
Squire presents a signed copy of a marriage license, but with a group of characters like Cedric, Abner, and grandpap, Attention Deficit causes all sorts of Disorder. Squire has had enough of the travesty of justice, and threatens to take this to a higher court.
One final distraction derails the trial, when Pvt Llewelyn Snavely Gray comes home from training. He pitches the need for letters from home to motivate the troops. And in the face of the price combat soldiers pay, griping about little things like rationing, or war bonds is a small thing.
Note: Mousey had barely been gone for 3 weeks. Wow, they must have been cranking the troops through training pretty quickly back then. Either that, or it was a mid-boot camp furlough or something.
