The Mars rocket ship is nearing completion, due to the diligent efforts of Cedric and Abner. Picking up a can of varnish, the gents get ready to put the finishing touches to the rocket. Varnish? On a wooden rocket? I hope it works as a decent heat shield.
Cedric and Abner harmonize to the tune of, They Cut Down the Old Pine Tree, as they work. Is there any chance that Cedric could join them on the flight? He could reduce, and lose a little weight if it would help.
As they layer on the coats of varnish, Cedric confuses Abner with a figure of speech. Has Cedric been getting worked too hard? With all the work at varnishing, why doesn’t it look like there’s any on the rocket? Is this a haunted rocket ship? Will Lum arrive with the answer to the varnish problem?
