With financial arrangements nearly dooming the rocket to Mars, professor Sloane has come through with a backer in Little Rock. The date draws closer, Abner begins to get nervous, but Lum is determined to prove it can be done.
As Abner packs the valises, he makes excuses. Can he find a willing substitute? This mission won’t be too dangerous will it? Lum isn’t as scared as Abner is he?
With such a wonderful opportunity, why won’t anybody volunteer to go on the mission? Elsewhere we find Squire talking to a stranger about the Mars mission. Why is he asking about the Mars company, and making an investment? Who cares! It’s Squire’s chance to take all the credit.
