The early building phase of the Mars rocket has seen progress, and set backs. Today, Squire Skimp is on hand to tell Lum that he wants a hand in managing the project. Though they have plenty of lumber and wheels, Lum tells how the professor keeps adding to it. Scientific things like oxygen tanks, and the like.
Squire feels he can handle the finances more effectively, and allow Lum and Abner to focus on the building of the rocket. He even has plans to sell stock in the project. If the gents post advertisements on the side of the rocket, Squire has sponsors lined up to help fund the rocket.
Come on Lum, you know all about Squire’s high standards and moral reputation. Let him be the project manager. Squire explains his plan to incorporate, sell stock, and generate revenue from dividend checks. There wouldn’t be anything crooked about the proposition, would there? Will Lum be convinced to give in to Squire?
