The big news in town is that Mousey Gray has been drafted. Abner is surprised to see him still around, and is glad to see the timid man get out of doing all the woman’s work in his house. Is he looking a little pale? Should the gents call Doc Miller over to give him a preliminary check up?
Maybe a few simple exercises will help? Lum lines up a few calisthenics, and has Abner join in. First, the gents need to clear some floor space. That pickle jar has to go… but nobody can budge it. Is it nailed to the floor?
Mousey manages to lift the barrel, and while Lum changes his mind, keeps moving it to each new location. After heaving the counter tops and display cases around, Mousey obediently puts them where Lum indicates. The gents are wore to a frazzle just thinking of the routine they want to put Mousey through. Maybe they ought to wait until another day? With all the stuff moved though, who’s going to put it back? Imagine their surprise when Mousey keels over with a simple exercise. He must have not been so strong after all.
