Looking into the murder of Donald Traviss, Mr Keen and Mike clancey have found a nest of suspicious characters where one aunt has held her mentally unstable sister locked up to protect her from having to go to a sanitarium. The sisters are lucid enough to discuss the events thus far as Mr Keen goes to investigate the handyman.
Might the murder revolve around a lost love of the unstable aunt Amy? Is aunt Martha’s plan a ruse to mislead Mr Keen? She only wants to keep Amy at home, and care for her on her own. Who’s the crazy one in that picture?

Mike reports in with evidence, but can it be trusted? Mr Keen and Mike are diligent in tracking down clues, and the truth slowly emerges. Is Mr Keen getting too close to the answer? Danger is lurking near as he draws this mystery to a conclusion.
