In a lonely old home, a young man enters a darkened house, and calls for his aunts. A shrieking breaks the silence in the home. A gun is fired, and the man is murdered. Later in the office of Mr Keen. Jane Clabbers takes her story to Mr Keen to tell that it was her husband who was murdered. She claims to have two eccentrice aunts, known as the Wierd Sisters in the neighborhood. The aunts, Martha and Amy, are 45 and 35. Did the aunts have anything to do with the murder? Jane thinks not, but she’s worried about rumors.
Jane tells that Martha is the domineering one, and has put a stop to Amy getting married in the past. Mr Keen and Mike set out to the house, and begin their work to unravel the mystery. Aunt Martha is aloof, but sends Mr Keen on the track of George Wheeler, Amy’s former beau. Who is that man outside, chopping firewood? A scream is heard, what is it, where is it coming from? Is someone being held prisoner? Answers to these questions will be learned in the next installment of Mr Keen.
PS: I just love the way that the gal implies that her aunts are old and senile, then says that they are 35, and 45. She better watch it. I’m sure Mr Keen is at least that old, not to mention som podcasters that I know of. If she wants help, another approach might be in order.
Note: This long running series has done what others have during this period. It went from a weekly 30 minute format to one of shorter duration, but spanned through several days of the wek. The good news is that I have the rest of this story. The bad news is that I don’t ahave any more, so once we learn who the shrieking prisoner is, and who the killer is, there won’t be anyfurther episodes of Mr. Keen.
