Letters from strangers, expected phone calls about the baby, and plenty of jumping to conclusions have the gents believing the baby in their care is royalty. Will their expected caller be the queen? Today Lum and Abner worry over whether they’re doing the right thing. Will rich rewards await them for their care of the baby? Maybe even propose marriage to Lum?
Imaginations run rampant, thinking of their brush with celebrity, and the fame it will bring them. Is there some kind of protocol that Lum ought to follow in talking to a queen? He and Abner try their hand at role playing a pretend call.
The phone rings, nerves run high. Will secrets be revealed? What does that coat of arms mean? The man on the other end talks in hushed tones, and warns of danger. The woman who dropped off the baby is his aunt, not his mom. A gunshot is heard! The phone call is dropped before more secrets can be revealed.
