A bank is robbed, the robber, Wyatt King is shot up. It is a mystery of who shot him. When Brit shows up, the folks assume that he did it. Brit claims to know nothing about the shooting. Wyatt survived the shooting and even he claims it was Brit who got him. There would be no shame in Brit claiming credit since the man is a bandit.
The man insistes it is Brit, because being known as gunned down by Brit will give the crook a better reputation.
Since nobody will believe the truth, Brit uses the clues from the shooter’s description and locates, and exposes the truth.
