Lizabeth and Pearl have returned, but there’s still the matter of the baby who was left in the store. Lum and Abner decide to draw names from a hat, and let the little tyke pick out the winning name himself. They take care of the baby together in the store, but have decided they will alternate days to take him home with them.
The names range from Charlie Abner, to Orlando. Heigh Ho Muskrat! Abner steps out, and Mousey arrives to catch Lum stacking the deck by writing his own name on extra slips of paper.
The baby wakes up from his nap, and while Lum goes to get him, its Abner’s turn to add extra entries of his name. Mousey is privy to the sneaky feats of both, but will he spill the beans? Maybe he won’t have to.
