The latest rift between Judge Hooker and Gildersleeve is revealed in flashback. Gildy is late, but his ride he expects with the judge has him running even more late. Fleeing the scene in the madhouse, he backs out of his drive… right into the judge. Who is responsible? Both think its the other, but are there witnesses to support each case?
It’s off to the insurance agent to report the claim. Will the smooth talking Diggs try to push Gildy into buying more insurance… or direct him to other companies for his claim? Why would Gildy want to do either one ? Marjorie tries to get the old gents to stop acting like hurt little boys, but how far will the bickering go to divide the family in other ways?
Planning to head out early to work the next day, Leila Ransom pops in to dote on her boyfriend after his accident. How has she heard about it, and what’s the gossip mill in town saying? Is the Judge making his injuries out to be more than they are? Gildy sets out for Peavey’s drugstore to get some inside scoop on the judge.
Later at Leila’s, Gildy tries to get friendly, then the judge enters to put Leila in the middle of their argument. She puts up with all she can, but resorts to turning on the tears to make the two patch things up.
