At the circus, Sally Eiler is the manager, tries to get Lou to be the lion tamer. After sideshow mishaps, Lou is recruited to be a wrestler. Connie Haines sings, Salt Water Cowboy.
Though the wrestling match is to be rigged between Bud and Lou, Alan Hale substitutes at the last minute to give Lou a hard time. Trivia Alert: In real life Lou Costello tried his hand as a professional boxer. He later worked as a stuntman before joining up with Bud Abbot for their Burlesque act.
Besides this date for this show, it also is listed as airing on: 03-16-1944. I doubt either is correct, especially if the show aired on Friday. The dates would actually be: 03-19-1943, and 03-17-1944. However it’s possible the show changed timeslots, but at the moment, I don’t have that information.
